Briana Scalia is a Digital Content Creator with FOX 5 NY, where she covers breaking and featured news stories in New York City and the surrounding communities in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
A Long Island native, Briana comes to FOX 5 from The New York Times, where she spent three years as a news assistant to the National Desk. During her tenure at the Times, she covered a wide range of events, from the 2024 presidential election and the pro-Palestinian campus protests to the Uvalde school shooting. She also contributed to the making of The Daily’s "One Million" episode, which told the stories of those who had lost loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Briana graduated from Fordham University with majors in journalism and political science and a minor in American studies. She also served as The Fordham Ram’s Opinion Editor for four years and Executive Editor for two.
