DIGITAL CONTENT CREATOR – [R50016067]

Create compelling, UX-focused content related to news, events, and topics relevant to local users and beyond, including text stories, photos/graphics, live streaming content, breaking news, and social media elements. Engage and build loyalty among communities. Serve as liaison to the newsroom, ensuring digital and social dominance. Reach and engage users on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and beyond. Work with Group Content Team and other FTS markets to distribute high-interest stories at scale. Follow group standards. Monitor real-time analytics. Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned. Requirements include: 3+ years experience developing and publishing content, including news, on digital and social platforms preferred. BA/BS degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications or related field with emphasis on digital publishing. Excellent writer and storyteller. Superior news judgment. Impeccable writing and copy-editing skills. Overwhelming attention to detail. Thrive under deadline pressure. Stellar communication skills. Social media expert. Proficient in content management systems, video publishing, live streaming, and digital analytics tools. Video and photo editing experience (Adobe products a plus). Must be willing to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.

BROADCAST MAINTENANCE ENGINEER – [R50014004]

WNYW/WWOR is seeking a skilled Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to perform daily preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem solving of all equipment associated with a 24/7/365 television operation in a major market. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance of automated Master Control systems, Studio, Automated Production Control Room Systems, Camera Control Systems, Robotic cameras, Remote Production ENG equipment, Post Production, Newsroom Video Playback and Archive solutions, ENG/SNG operations, NAS systems, Non Linear edit systems and Satellite distribution systems; assist in system design, construction and commissioning of new technologies at the Studio, Transmitter and Remote Facilities. Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in TV Engineering which must include a strong IT background; a B.S. degree with an emphasis in Engineering or IT is preferred; must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in addition to being able to work closely with all station staff in a team environment; must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to lift 50 lbs.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT – [R50017548]

Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties; reports to Directors of Finance. Assist in month end close, prepare all journal entries and maintain monthly file; reconcile all general ledger accounts and prepare/update General Ledger Account Analyses; manage and update all Prepaid and Accrual Sub-Ledger Accounts; manage fixed assets and monthly depreciation; manage program/film asset and liabilities and monthly amortization; prepare monthly A/R report; prepare quarterly Film and Fixed Asset reporting; Perform and maintain analysis on all trade agreements; Reconcile Daily Program Logs; Prepare monthly advertising invoices; assist in preparation of annual budgets, SAQ & SOX testing. Requirements include: four-year degree with emphasis in accounting/finance; must have a minimum of 3 years accounting and financial analysis; prior experience in media accounting strongly preferred; must possess strong analytical and organizational skills, be detail-oriented and must have the ability to work under strict deadlines, with a basic knowledge of internal controls; Television/Radio broadcast experience and knowledge of Wide Orbit Traffic & Workday Financials a plus; must be proficient in Microsoft Excel; NY notary a plus. 

HVAC ENGINEER – perdiem position– [R50017754]

Operation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and heating systems, fire prevention equipment including fire and house pumps, standpipes, sprinkler systems, knowledge of Class E fire alarm system, control panel and portable fire extinguishers, compressor banks and cooling tower operations; must have knowledge of water treatment procedures for all closed loop and house water systems. Must be I.U.O.E. Local 30 member; individual must be certified as an Operating Engineer possessing both Refrigeration and CFC Licenses; must have either a Fire Safety or Deputy Fire Safety Director certificate issued by the FDNY and standpipe, sprinkler certificates; other FDNY certificates a plus; must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC plant operations and plumbing experience; must be able to work flexible hours and various shifts.

SALES ASSISTANT – [R50017756]

Primary responsibilities are to assist account executives; responsible for maintaining account files, processing orders, revisions and cancellations; act as a liaison between account executives, agency buyers, reps and clients; filing, answering phones and general administrative work; other duties as assigned. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint desired; must be able to calculate figures and prioritize; excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work well under pressure and be a "team player;" college degree preferred; 1-2 years office or related experience required.

ASSOCIATE PROMOTIONS PRODUCER – [R50014260]

The Associate Producer will work with the Creative Team in writing, producing and editing promos for on-air, digital, and social media. The ideal candidate should be creative, highly organized with a strong interest in broadcast promotion & marketing and have a strong understanding of digital and social media marketing.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. In addition, the Associate Producer will support the Director of Creative Services and Producers on various projects and must be a team player and have excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include: conceptualize, write, produce and edit news and entertainment on-air promos; create engaging social and digital content to share with our millions of followers; explore new and emerging social media platforms and identify growth opportunities; distribute assets for multi-media advertising buys; provide vacation relief for Log Coordinator and Producers; assist with production shoots, location scouts, music and video acquisitions and other projects as assigned. Requirements include: minimum 1-2 years of experience in social media/digital marketing, television broadcasting, or related field preferred (this can include internships); excellent writing skills; strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment; strong knowledge of social media platforms; strong knowledge of video editing and a passion for creating  compelling marketing content; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; must be a highly motivated team player with a positive attitude.

MASTER CONTROL TECHNICIAN – [R50017757]

WNYW / WWOR has an immediate need for a full-time broadcast Master Control. This position reports to the Director of Engineering. The Master Control operator will oversee live news and sports broadcasts on our two channels. Master Control is the last stop before our broadcasts are transmitted to viewers in the New York area, therefore the successful candidate will be detail oriented, diligent and have knowledge of all applicable technical standards and FCC legal requirements. The Master Control Operator utilizes Grass Valley iTX, Vela, Statmon and DASDEC EAS equipment as part of their daily routine. Familiarity with any or all of these is a plus, but not a requirement provided you have equivalent experience. Requirements include: a minimum of 2 years working in a broadcast facility; working knowledge of some form of broadcast Master Control automation technology; working knowledge of common business software including Microsoft Office 365 applications; ability to read and follow detailed technical procedures; ability to work in a mission-critical, sometimes stressful environment; must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed; ability to sit for long periods while monitoring multiple audio/video feeds; ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Candidate will fill a variety of production roles; perform functions including, but not limited to, technical director/automation, audio operator/mixing, robotics/camera, chyron/graphics and floor director; must have a solid understanding of live production elements, specifically news production and be able to operate live broadcast equipment; will work in control room environment; will think critically under pressure while broadcasting within strict time constraints; work as a cohesive team. Interact professionally and respectfully with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews and management. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years recent experience in the broadcast technician, control room/master control and news environment in a medium to major size market; excellent communication skills, strong technical skills – systems, equipment software, etc.; friendly and collaborative spirit; positive attitude, good judgement. Must be able to sit and stand for an extended period; must be able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel. WNYW/WWOR is a 24/7 operation. Flexibility in scheduling evenings, early mornings, weekends as well as work all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment; must be able to work overtime, holidays and varied hours. TRAINING PROGRAM FOX 5 WNYW / MY 9 WWORFOX Television Stations, FOX 5/WNYW and MY 9/WWOR offers a hands-on six-month training program for College Graduates interested in obtaining valuable experience in the various fields of Television Broadcasting. This training program requires no previous broadcast work experience, thereby, when the six-months training period is completed, the goal is to provide the trainee with the prerequisite skills to acquire an entry-level position in the broadcasting field.
