OTT-CTV REGIONAL MANAGER – [R50013999]
The FOX O&O duopoly in the #1 market seeks a highly skilled OTT Regional Sales Manager to oversee sales of FLX – Fox’s new CTV/OTT solution. This person will have oversight of the OTT annual budget, manage a dedicated OTT Account Executive and develop all OTT local sales efforts in the New York DMA and the following regions: Upstate New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Eastern Canada. Align and prioritize efforts based on the company’s OTT initiatives in order to maximize revenue. Requirements: Skillfull in selling complex solutions with a particular emphasis on long-form video inventory; fluent in conveying the value, benefit and impact of OTT advertising to both experienced buyers and digital newbies. Proven experience in a sales management role preferably with OTT experience or other local digital mediums. A consultative sales approach with a thorough knowledge of IP address targeting capabilities and digital attribution. Established background in developing relationships with key decision-makers at both the client and agency level. Must be willing to travel.
NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER/EDITOR – [R50014000]
Photograph and edit news stories, special events and microwave live shots as assigned by the News department; operate ENG cameras and editing equipment (linear and non-linear); operate ENG microwave live van, setting up love shots for news and special events; operate station owned vehicles, two-way radio system in station vehicles, microwave and satellite transmitters and receivers for the transmission of news stories; understand the use of lighting, photographic, audio and editing techniques as required in news production. Candidates must have 2-3 years experience in #1 market as a news videographer/editor covering breaking news, operating Microwave and SAT Live Trucks, and have the ability to tell the story in pictures; feature experience, lighting skills, and non-linear editing ability required; college degree or equivalent in journalism or broadcast production; knowledge of basic journalism and production techniques required; familiar with the operation of Panasonic P2 Camera Systems and Avid Non-linear equipment. Candidates must have a proven record of dependability and good judgment in breaking news situations and the ability to consistently meet deadlines; must be a team player and possess skills to work as a cohesive member of department; ability to lift heavy equipment and climb stairs; driver’s license required.
BROADCAST MAINTENANCE ENGINEER – [R50014004]
WNYW/WWOR is seeking a skilled Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to perform daily preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem solving of all equipment associated with a 24/7/365 television operation in a major market. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance of automated Master Control systems, Studio, Automated Production Control Room Systems, Camera Control Systems, Robotic cameras, Remote Production ENG equipment, Post Production, Newsroom Video Playback and Archive solutions, ENG/SNG operations, NAS systems, Non Linear edit systems and Satellite distribution systems; assist in system design, construction and commissioning of new technologies at the Studio, Transmitter and Remote Facilities. Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in TV Engineering which must include a strong IT background; a B.S. degree with an emphasis in Engineering or IT is preferred; must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in addition to being able to work closely with all station staff in a team environment; must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to lift 50 lbs.
DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING – [R50012499]
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: direct supervision of the Engineering Maintenance department consisting of IATSE Maintenance Technician and daily oversight of Master Control Hub/Spoke automation technology; developing, implementing and maintaining all broadcast equipment and systems to ensure efficient, fault tolerant and error-free operations; providing oversight of design, construction and preventive maintenance of broadcast facilities and assume responsibility for on-time, satisfactory completion of assigned projects with established budgets; maintaining working knowledge of support systems such as emergency power generation and switching systems, UPS and power distribution devices and HVAC; developing and implementing current and long-range technical operation plans with an emphasis on emerging technology and competitive ENG systems to support all television and News operations, including the identification, evaluation and implementation of new technologies and equipment needs, as well as recommendations regarding technical and/or support systems’ requirements for existing operational instructions; under the guidance of the Regional VP of Engineering, prepare departmental expense budgets and oversee the preparation of both current and future three-year Capital Improvement plans; oversee weekly payroll summaries submitted by the Operations and Maintenance staff; devising and implementing new methods and standards to streamline operations and reduce on-air errors; documenting and maintaining strict FCC, EAS and OSHA regulation compliance and internal company policies; other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Individual must be a strong leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills; must have the ability to direct and motivate the technical staff and work well with station departments; strong organization skills, accuracy and attention to detail is required; must represent the Station in a manner consistent with the business standards and policies of the company; display and maintain professional appearance and demeanor, based on the Station’s standards; varied work hours, holidays and weekends and be available to work during severe weather situations, as needed; proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint and AutoCAD software a must. SBE certification is desirable; knowledge of television transmitters and RF facilities a plus; must be fluent in the interpretation of current Collective Bargaining Agreements in force with labor unions to ensure both procedural and substantive rights of the Company and Union are observed, while identifying possible changes within these contracts to ensure the success of company operating initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional IT/IP knowledge base specifically related to the adoption of digital audio/video over IP transport. Bachelor’s degree in electronics/electrical engineering preferred and a minimum of ten (10) years broadcast engineering and similar management position held. Certification of higher working knowledge of digital broadcast systems including but not limited to: full power UHF broadcast transmitters, encoding equipment, server technology, LAN, WAN and storage technologies is a must. Strong follow-through, written communications and interpersonal skills required. Position requires moderate workstation and telephone use. Light sitting, standing, bending, walking, stair climbing, driving, traveling, attending meetings and lifting a maximum of 50lbs. is also required.

This training program requires no previous broadcast work experience, thereby, when the six-months training period is completed, the goal is to provide the trainee with the prerequisite skills to acquire an entry-level position in the broadcasting field.
