NYPD investigates toddler's death
Investigators with the NYPD are probing the death of a 3-year-old girl in Queens. Police found the little girl and EMS rushed her to St. John's Hospital but it was too late. The girl was later identified as Bella Edwards. Sources told Fox 5 News that the girl showed signs of abuse; another young child was taken from the apartment for their safety.

The Long Island Rail Road suspended service on four of its branches because of a large fire at a recycling plant near the tracks east of the Jamaica station. Service was suspended in both directions on Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay, Hempstead branches after the fire started shortly after 1 p.m. Friday. Limited eastbound service was restored on some lines by 5 p.m.

Frustrated commuters told Fox 5 that these service delays and suspensions seem to happen all too often. And they said that consider yourself lucky if just one line has a problem. Tuesday morning, the F, N, M, Q, R, and W lines suffered massive delays due to signals problems, leaving hundreds late and stranded. The delays in Astoria made for a particularly chaotic scene.
