The NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball would need thousands of virus tests every week if those leagues can resume playing games. That remains the biggest challenge to address before most sports can resume, especially in a time where getting tested has been problematic and frustrating for many Americans.

New York Islanders fans have been waiting for this announcement: Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that the Islanders will split their home games for at least the next three seasons between the Nassau Coliseum and Barclays Center while a new state-of-the-art arena is constructed at Belmont Park.

Islanders to return to Nassau County

The New York Islanders are coming back to Long Island, according to several sources who have been following the team's plans. Hempstead Town Supervisor-elect Laura Gillen said she would have preferred to see the Islanders return to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, but she is glad the state is paving the way for the team to at least relocate to Nassau County.
