Tyler Thrasher is a Regional Digital Content Creator for FOX 5 NY, FOX 29 Philadelphia and FOX 5 DC.
Tyler started his news career at WRIC ABC 8News in Richmond, Virginia, as a photojournalist after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2017.
Also affectionately known as "Thrash" — Tyler worked his way up through the newsroom, becoming a news reporter in Nov. 2019, right before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
He covered events ranging from Richmond social justice movements, critical election cycles, and extensive coverage of efforts to change hazing laws in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He also served as one of the team's sports anchors for local coverage.
After a few years, he ultimately stepped into a leadership role at 8News, serving as the station's Digital Executive Producer.
He is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master's Degree at University of Florida Online, studying Mass Communications in Digital Strategy.
Tyler has many hobbies like writing music, playing soccer, signing up to run local races and playing with his rescue dog, Bella.
