In a little more than three months, the 2018 U.S. Open will kick off celebrating its 50th anniversary. But it'll also be ushering in a new era when it opens the brand new Louis Armstrong Stadium. As workers put on the finishing touches, one detail is clearly evident: the retractable roof. So when there are rainy days in August, tennis will still be played.

Subway disruptions
A bus stop in Astoria, Queens, was so packed with people Tuesday morning that a line of commuters wound around 31st Street. Frustrated commuters told Fox 5 that these service delays and suspensions seem to happen all too often. And they said that consider yourself lucky if just one line has a problem. Tuesday morning, the F, N, M, Q, R, and W lines suffered massive delays due to signals problems, leaving hundreds late and stranded. The delays in Astoria made for a particularly chaotic scene.

Ferry service affecting rents
This past summer, New York City expanded ferry service along the East River and it is having a noticeable impact on certain rents. Some neighborhoods like DUMBO in Brooklyn and Long Island City in Queens haven't seen rents increase much at all. But in Greenpoint and Astoria, access to Manhattan by boat is both drawing renters and driving up prices.
