Gov. Phil Murphy on Thursday echoed a statement that Attorney General Gurbir Grewal issued the day before: That recreational weed isn't legal yet and may not be for a year or so.

New Jersey bans single-use bags, foam containers

Gov. Phil Murphy on Wednesday signed a bill into law that prohibits single-use plastic and paper bags and disposable food containers and cups made out of polystyrene foam as of May 2022.

Gov. Murphy: 2.6 million ballots already cast in NJ

A week until Election Day and more than 2.6 million ballots have already been cast in New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy said Tuesday. That amounts to 67% of the voter turnout in 2016 and stems from the state holding its first mostly mail-in election. 

Second wave? New Jersey COVID-19 cases spike

The health commissioner said most of the positive cases in Ocean County stem from Lakewood, predominantly among white men ages 19-49 and could be related to religious services or celebrations that occurred in late September.
