The Borough Hall subway station in Brooklyn is more than 100 years old and is known to have water problems. That issue led to a ceiling collapse on Wednesday. A 10-feet-by-10-feet section of ceiling tile came crashing down onto the 4/5 subway platform. Luckily, only one rider suffered a minor injury to the arm and didn't require medical attention.

New York City taxi drivers rallied outside City Hall on Tuesday, demanding that the City Council step in and regulate app-based cars for hire. They claim that services such as Uber and Lyft are destroying their business and taking a heavy toll on their lives. The cries were for all drivers to come together in memory of five yellow cab, livery, and black car drivers who the Taxi Workers Alliance says have taken their lives in the last five months.

A New York State appellate judge issued a temporary restraining order blocking the NYPD from releasing officers' body camera videos to the public. This is a temporary victory for the union that represents rank-and-file cops. The PBA sued the city to prevent any police body camera video from ever being made public. The PBA lost the case in a lower court and appealed.

Brooklyn neighbors murdered

New York City police detectives are investigating if the murders of two next-door neighbors in a Brooklyn building are connected. The killings took place inside the Bushwick Houses at 140 Moore Street. In the most recent case, Basil Gray, 54, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was dead inside his apartment when police arrived about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
