An illegal immigrant from Mexico who had been formerly deported has been arrested for a tenth time by the U.S. Border Patrol.

Agents say that Sergio Nunez-Barrera had been picked up by the Lapeer County Michigan sheriff's office in connection with an outstanding warrant.

During questioning, the border patrol agents said he freely admitted he had illegally crossed into the United States in 2014.  During processing, it was also determined that Nunez-Barrera has been arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol nine previous times dating back to 2000.

It was also confirmed that Nunez was convicted of improper entry by alien in September of 2012 and was sentenced to 30 days incarceration.

Nunez-Barrer was processed and turned over to the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office for his outstanding warrant on burglary charges.  Once he is released from the sheriff’s custody he will be handed back over to border patrol agents.
