"In 2025, the U.S. will begin a new presidential term with the start of an openly authoritarian administration. We face a government of billionaires, con artists, and white supremacists who are enriching themselves while dividing and attacking our communities," the protest's organizes said on their website. "They unite to divide. We must unite to rise."
Pro-Palestinian protests in NYC
Local perspective:
Since the October 7 attacks in Israel and the resulting war in Gaza, there have been regular protests and demonstrations in New York City and around the nation against Israel's war with Hamas.
Protesters have stormed the Brooklyn Bridge, blocking traffic, targeted museums across New York City and attempted to interrupt the Met Gala.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul said last year that she would consider banning masks on New York City's subways after masked pro-Palestinian protesters took over a subway car, chanting "Raise your hand if you're a Zionist" followed by "this is your change to get out."
