Paper plant fire

A massive fire burned�at the Marcal paper facility along on the Passaic River in Bergen County Wednesday night. The windy and frigid weather conditions made containing the fire very difficult, officials said. The fire broke out at about 5 p.m., authorities said. The wind whipped up the flames for hours and sent glowing embers into the sky, prompting officials to evacuate several homes near the facility as a precaution.
