Manhattan DA to slash pot cases

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office will no longer prosecute most people accused of smoking or possessing small amounts of pot in public. the new policy is expected to reduce marijuana prosecutions from 5,000 cases per year to 200 — a 96-percent reduction.
