Tristate digs out

A powerful nor'easter predicted to bring record snow totals and fierce winds to New York City tracked slightly west on Tuesday morning, lessening its impact on the area and Long Island, while slamming the region north and west of the city. Some areas in upstate New York and northwestern New Jersey saw close to and more than two feet of snow.
