An official said about 8,700 extra riders came through the Hoboken terminal Monday. Commuters are urged to take a PATH train or ferry to Hoboken and then hop on another train home. They can also take a bus directly from Port Authority in Manhattan to New Jersey.

Bonds made numerous rants against police officers on what is believed to be his Facebook page. Sources said Bonds was on parole for a robbery in Syracuse, after doing seven years. His past arrests include drug arrests and other offenses.

He says a major contributor is the surge of car services such as Uber, Lyft, and Via in the past two years. Schwartz said these services have grown by 500 percent and have now eclipsed the number of trips that yellow taxi drivers make.
