Trump-Tillerson meet; IQ, moron comments linger

Fears are mounting that North Korea could soon test launch another ballistic missile in response to the U.S. military's drills in the region. Two U.S, Air Force B-1 bombers flew over the Korean peninsula. South Korean military reported a pair of its fighter jets also joined the drills.

President Trump summoned his national security team, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to the White House to talk about the potential conflict. It was a potentially awkward sit-down because of reports that Tillerson once called the president a "moron." Trump then said this in an interview with Forbes: "I think it's fake news he said that but if he did that, I guess we'll have to compare IQ tests. And I can tell you who is going to win."

Asked if he undercut the secretary of state with the IQ comment, Trump said, "I don't believe in undercutting people."

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the president made a joke and didn't imply that the secretary of state isn't intelligent.

From friction in his Cabinet to a growing conflict in his own party: Trump lashed out at Sen. Bob Corker after the Tennessee Republican told the New York Times, "We could be headed for World War III with the kind of comments that he's making." On Twitter, the president called Corker names "Liddle" and a "Fool."

He later defended his foreign policy record.

"We were on the wrong path before," Trump said. "We're on the right path right now, believe me."
