Third teen arrested for allegedly stealing NYC subway train for joyride: NYPD

A third teen suspect has been arrested after allegedly stealing an empty "R" train in Brooklyn in December and taking it for a joyride with a group of people. 

The 15-year-old teenager is charged with multiple counts of reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal trespass, police said. 

What happened?

What we know:

According to police, the theft took place at 10 p.m. on Saturday near the 71st Avenue station in Forest Hills. 

Police said that six suspects got into an empty R train that was sitting in a storage yard in Brooklyn and headed down the tracks over the weekend.

Police said they operated the train and damaged glass panels on the train's camera by placing markings on them.

Footage posted to social media allegedly showed the incident as it happened. 

What we don't know:

Right now we don't know the name of the 15-year-old male that has been arrested.

We also don't know the names of the other two suspects who were arrested on Monday.

What's next:

The other suspects, both boys aged 15 and 17, are facing multiple charges, including reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. 

Authorities are still searching for the other three suspects.
