Rutgers Newark students stage anti-Trump walkout
NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NEWS) - Rutgers Newark students took a stand by walking out of class and demanding the school do more to protect undocumented classmates.
Tanaysia Brown voted in the election. Her friend, Yeiyma Gameza did not because she couldn't. She is able to study in the United States under the protective executive order of President Obama. She is unsure of what will happen next with the election of Donald Trump.
The rally at the Paul Robeson Student Center -- one of 80 across the country -- called on college administrators to create so-called sanctuary campuses that would ensure safety for students who could be deported under a Trump administration.
