Repaired Superstorm Sandy house slips off its foundation

NEW YORK (AP) — City officials say they'll build back a house that slid off its foundation after it was repaired due to Superstorm Sandy damange.

The house in Brooklyn's Gerritsen Beach slipped off its foundation around 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Neighbors said the house fell on its side. There were no injuries.

The house had been repaired as part of the NYC Build It Back program and crews had lowered it into place on Tuesday.

The mayor's Office of Housing Recovery says it's trying to figure out what happened. It's lifting hundreds of homes throughout the city and says it's confident of its safety protocols.

Officials say the house will be rebuilt but it's not clear how long it'll take.

The owners had hoped to move in next month.
