Religion Week: Christianity

Christianity is the world's largest religion with over 2.4 billion followers. But how did a religion that began more than 2,000 years ago remain relevant to this day?

Father Boniface Ramsey is the pastor of St. Joseph's Church in Yorkville. He discussed that issue with Fox 5.

Jesus of Nazareth, the son of a seemingly simple carpenter, embraced those on the periphery of society: the poor, the sick, the outcasts. He was a philosopher, a revolutionary, whose ministry began with only a few disciples yet he impacted the world. His message was one of peace and love.

Whether you realize it or not, Christianity has influenced many aspects of our society, even how our years are labeled. B.C. stands for Before Christ. A.D. stands for Anno Domini, which is Latin for "the year of our Lord."

Christians we spoke to say their faith is more than just going to church or religious figurines. It's simply a way of life.
