The New York Post is reporting that Gov. Kathy Hochul is considering lowering the retirement age of certain New York workers to 55-years-old.

Data: New York worst state for retirement

FOX 5 NY's Christal Young took the streets to ask New Yorkers where they plan on retiring.

Workers under consideration would only be public workers that were hired after 2014.

If Hochul decides to pursue the change, the move could cost taxpayers $1.5 billion.
