Man attacks driver for singing Christmas carols, cops say

Pennsylvania man was arrested after he allegedly choked his driver for singing Christmas songs.

The incident occurred on March 4 on Route 28, in East Deer Township.  A Pennsylvania state trooper was called for a possible medical emergency and found a Chrysler Town and Country minivan parked on the shoulder of the road, according to local media reports.

The driver said his passenger, 25-year-old Clayton Lucas, reached around the seat and began choking him because he was singing Christmas songs.  The victim told police that he nearly passed out because Lucas had squeezed him so hard.

In a criminal complaint, the trooper noted the victim’s neck was red and that his eyes appeared to be bloodshot.

The state trooper claimed that Lucas would not listen to his verbal commands as he attempted to handcuff him. The trooper said he was forced to sweep Lucas’s legs from under him to detain him.

Lucas was charged with aggravated assault and other charges.  He was booked into the Allegheny County Jail on $25,000 bond but has since been released.
