Man accused of raping girl, 7, arrested

A man who was arrested on trespassing charges on Staten Island, but freed soon after was arrested again and charged with raping a seven year old girl.

Daniel Nieto, 32, broke into the girl’s Staten Island home and sexually assaulted her at about 2:45 a.m. on Aug. 6, according to police.

He fled but was later captured at a nearby, abandoned house.

Cops reportedly did not know the girl had been raped when he was released from their custody, reported the Staten Island Advance.

The NYPD released a description and photo of Nieto on Sunday.

He was captured while working at a restaurant in East Brunswick, New Jersey, on Tuesday and was awaiting extradition to Staten Island.

Neito reportedly had no criminal record prior to the arrest for trespassing, according to the Staten Island Advance.
