Liking silly quotes might mean you have a lower IQ

We all have friends whose social media feeds are full of inspirational quotes. Or maybe we're one of those people. Well a new study has a less-than-inspiring message, concluding that people who do all that posting may actually have a lower IQ.

The study conducted by researchers at the University of Waterloo refers to the seemingly endless stream of motivation, encouragement, and enlightenment attributed to others and posted on Instagram and Twitter.

The study found that people who could not recognize quotes categorized as nonsense, despite how meaningful they appeared to be superficially, also had a lower IQ.

Perhaps it truly is as Deepak Chopra once said: "Nothing is more important than reconnecting with your bliss. Nothing is as rich. Nothing is more real." Ah, see what I did there?
