LI assistant principal slammed for appearance in rap video

The assistant principal of Southampton High School on Long Island is taking heat for appearing in the opening and closing scenes of a raunchy rap video.  Esther Adler-O’Keefe plays rapper J.R.'s 'mom' in his new video, 'Best Friend' featuring R&B sensation Trey Songz.

Adler-O'Keefe and her 'husband' appear to be leaving their home for a getaway with suitcases in hand when she tells J.R. to "enjoy yourself, just remember, security's here." The security she is referring to turns out to be scantily clad women.

A wild party breaks out. The video is filled with twerking, provocative dancing, alcohol, drugs and vulgarities.

In an email to Hampstons websites 27East.com, Adler-O'Keefe says she had no idea the video would be loaded with graphic content.

"Had I known of such content or lyrics, I certainly would not have participated in any fashion. I find the lyrics and content of the music video vulgar, offensive and demeaning," said Adler-O'Keefe.

In the last scene, J.R.'s 'parents' return home to find women in bikinis sleeping on the couch. Adler-O'Keefe throws a ball at J.R. to wake him up.

***WARNING: GRAPHIC LANGUAGE***

Superintendent Dr. Scott Farina issues the following statement Monday:

"It has recently come to our attention that a member of our administrative staff appeared in a music video.  The video in question showcases behaviors and language use that is not promoted by the Southampton School District. In fact, we actively teach our students the importance of good character and making smart choices. Additionally, this is not representative of who we are as a district nor of our students and staff.

As this is a matter of personnel, the district cannot legally comment further on this incident."

There has been plenty of social media commentary on the video.

Several posts are messages of support for Adler-O'Keefe, some even say 'Free Adler-O'Keefe.'
