Latest Weinstein movie only brings in $742

It's been a horror show at the box office lately.  The first movie put out by the Weinstein Co. since the ousting of disgraced co-founder Harvey Weinstein only took in $742 in a limited release.

"Amityville: The Awakening" played in an unusual Saturday-only engagement and only on 10 screens.  That averages out to less than $75 a theater.

The theater release came two weeks after it was released on Google Play at no cost.

The 1979 original "Amityville Horror" grossed $86 million.

The number one film at the box office for the weekend was the eighth installment of the "Saw" series.  Jigsaw took in more than $16 million but that was also considered a disappointing number.
