ISIS video calls for Washington attack

The Islamic State group has released a video showing one of its fighters in Iraq vowing to attack Washington the way Paris was attacked last week. The nearly 12-minute video shows unidentified fighters praising Friday's attacks in Paris, which killed 129 people, and calling on Muslims in France to "ignite and kill soldiers and tyrants." One fighter says Muslims should strike in the West because the U.S.-led coalition is targeting IS in Iraq.

According to the NY Post,  the “crusader campaign” was delivered by a man dressed in fatigues and a turban and identified in subtitles as Al Ghareeb the Algerian.

“We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington,” the man said.

Since Friday's attacks in Paris, President Barack Obama says, his critics have been "talking as if they're tough" -- but they're offering no real ideas. Speaking to reporters in Turkey today, Obama dismissed calls for sending U.S. ground troops into the fight against the Islamic State group. He said it "would be a mistake," and that it wouldn't work unless the U.S. was committed to being a permanent occupying force in the region.
