As part of a protest against the election of Donald Trump, hundreds of protesters shut down I-94 for about two hours. Thursday evening, several activist groups came together across the river in Minneapolis, outside the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.

After meeting at the Humphrey School, protesters marched southbound along Cedar Ave S and then went eastbound on Franklin Ave to Riverside Avenue, where they entered the freeway and started blocking off I-94. Police blocked traffic on I-94 from Hiawatha Ave to Highway 280. I-94 reopened in both directions around 9:30 p.m.

There were no arrests by Minneapolis police. Officials say there weren't any injuries. So far, there are no known reports of vandalism in connection to the protest.
