Handcuffed man who fled cops recaptured

A man who escaped from police custody while still handcuffed is back in police custody after almost a month on the run, the NYPD said.

With his hands cuffed behind him, Tareek Arnold, 23, got away from officers on June 23, 2015, as they were putting him in a police car in Harlem.

Arnold, who has six prior arrests, assaulted the officer who was escorting him, according to police. He then outran cops who gave chase.

The NYPD did not elaborate on Arnold's recapture.
