Florida sheriff urges citizens to carry guns and be ready to stop terrorists
A county sheriff from Florida is urging citizens to be the first line of defense against criminal and terrorists. In a Facebook video, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey called on locals who are legally licensed to carry a firearm to be ready to face down a terrorist because "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
He said that even a fast response from law enforcement may not be fast enough. That is why he is urging citizens to carry their weapons and be will to use them. "We need to be mentally and physically prepared to respond to an attack so we can effectively defend and protect ourselves in an emergency," Ivey said in the video.
