Police in New York are looking for five people who attacked and beat an elderly diner worker in Midtown Manhattan.

The NYPD says it happened Sunday morning at about 4:45 a.m. inside the Applejack Diner on Broadway.  Police say five people got into a fight with another person in the diner.  When the 71-year-old employee tried to stop the fight, the five people turned on him and started to attack.

One of them hit the elderly worker in the face with a liquor bottle, leaving him with a cut to his face and a fractured nose.  EMS took him to Mt. Sinai West Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The attackers got away.  The only descriptions provided by the NYPD were that the attackers were three black males, 20 to 30 years old and two black females 20 to 30 years old.
