Driver uses sidewalk to avoid traffic
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A pick-up truck driver apparently couldn't wait in traffic behind a school bus in Brooklyn so the driver decided to take the sidewalk instead.
Video posted to Twitter by @WMSBG of the truck nearly mowing down Jewish school girls in Williamsburg Monday comes just days after a similar incident outside a Jewish school in Borough Park.
The black Chevrolet pick-up drives over the crossing lane and nearly hits the two girls standing on the corner and proceeds onto the sidewalk and out of camera range.
The shocking incident occurred at Harrison Ave. and Wallabout St. just before 8:30 a.m.
The truck had flashing yellow dashboard lights.
On Feb. 21, a driver tried to get around several parked school buses by driving onto the sidewalk and narrowly missing young children.
