Cops: Mom stabbed 6-year-old son 'multiple times'

Newport, Oregon - Police say a woman stabbed her own 6-year-old son several times before he could run away to a neighbor's house.

It reportedly happened Saturday night in Newport, Oregon.  Police arrested Nemoria Lynn Villagomez for the attack on her own son.  Villagomez had a infant with her when police arrived, according to the local Fox station.  The baby was taken to the hospital to be checked out and DHS will investigate.

The 6-year-old was transported to a Newport hospital and later flown to a Portland hospital.

Villagomez is facing several charges including assault.  She was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on Sunday and is due in court on Tuesday.
