Chaos outside impromptu 50 Cent show on Long Island
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - An impromptu 50 Cent performance at Bracco's Clam and Oyster Bar in Freeport, Long Island, Saturday night caused chaos and congestion.
Mayor Robert Kennedy said 50 Cent arrived at 10:15 p.m. and departed at 11 p.m. But Kaci Snyder says that's not true. She was there and took a picture of 50 Cent's car still outside around 1130. She says police were trying to control the crowds.
Freeport officials say they brought in extra police and closed the road but two officers were still injured.
Ilona Jagnow, owner of Otto's Sea Grill, showed Fox 5 surveillance video of fights that broke out in front of her restaurant and then one that ended inside her kitchen. She says things have changed since Bracco's opened.
Video timestamped 1:30 a.m. from Nawlins Seafood shows a police officer running towards the crowd.
The owners of Bracco's didn't want to go on camera. Other restaurant owners have a message for them: This is not the clientele we're looking for down here.
Freeport Police insist the Nautical Mile is safe and secure. They are going through the recordings and more arrests could be made.
