NEW YORK - The NYPD has charged a man with murder following a quadruple shooting in the Bronx.
According to police, Jose Parilla, 32, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon after the shooting.
Police said Friday around 2:30 p.m., four men were shot near East Tremont Avenue and Hughes Avenue in the East Tremont section.
The shooting claimed the life of 24-year-old Jeremiah Smith of the Bronx and 51-year-old Salvatore Rivera, also of the Bronx.

Person in custody after Bronx shooting
The NYPD says a person of interest is in custody after a 24-year-old man was killed and three other men were injured in a shooting outside a Popeyes in the Bronx.
Two more victims, a 58-year-old man, and a 36-year-old man were shot in the buttocks and ankle, respectively.
Police said the shooting was a result of a dispute that escalated and became violent outside a Popeyes.
In Coney Island Friday evening, police said four people were shot.

4 shot in Coney Island
A quadruple shooting in Coney Island has left four people hospitalized.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. outside a mini-mart on Mermaid Avenue, near West 3rd Street.
All four victims were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive, police said.
So far, no arrests have been made in the Coney Island shooting. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
