A blimp en route to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade went down on Long Island Thursday morning. According to the pilot, the blimp ran out of fuel, tried to make it back to Republic Airport, but was forced to make an emergency landing on a baseball field near Woodward Parkway School in Farmingdale.

The blimp was due to fly over the parade to promote a school called The Manhattan Institute.

Nearby residents posted photos of the landing all over social media.

No one was hurt.

In 1994, a blimp used for the U.S. Open was also forced to crash land when they could not make it back to the airport after experiencing technical issues.
