'After' compared to 'Twilight,' '50 Shades of Grey'

The story of two college students who fall in love comes to the big screen in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel, 'After.'

The movie has been compared to a cross between the 'Twilight' movies and '50 Shades of Grey.'

"If we're going to be compared to two things then I love that it's 'Twilight' and '50 Shades of Grey,' but they're totally different stories," said author Anna Todd.

The series, which includes 'The Spring Girls,' 'The Brightest Stars,' and 'After' have been read 1.5 billion times.

The series began as fan fiction and is loosely based on One Direction singer Harry Styles.

"It's such a wholesome, developed character. He's a myserious, intriguing British boy going to college in America,' said Hero Fiennes-Tiffin.

His love interest is played by Australian actress Josephine Langford.

"A lot of people are going to take away very different things form the film and messages from me," said Josephing Langford. "I hope that girls take away that they should do what they want with their sexuality according to their own comfort levels."
