Affirmative action ruling leads to 'Becky with the Bad Grades'

The hashtag Becky With The Bad Grades started trending soon after the Supreme Court of the United States voted 4-3 Thursday to uphold an affirmative action ruling.

The plaintiff in the case was Abigail Fisher,  who was rejected from the University of Texas in 2008.

She claimed the school unfairly denied her admission while admitting less qualified, minority students.

According to the NY Daily News, the person who started the hashtag couldn't help herself.

"It just popped into my head when I heard the news," said Lavinia M'Bala.

The hashtag is a reference to #BeckyWithTheGoodHair- a line in a song by Beyonce.

Fisher has been roasted on social media for losing the case.
