NYC reports massive increase in complaints over use of illegal fireworks

Residents in neighborhoods across New York City say the sound of nighttime explosions from fireworks have hit an all-time high this year, with city 3-1-1 data indicating that there have been nearly 2,000 firework complaints across the five boroughs this year, compared to just 21 at this time last year.
