Nikolas Cruz in court

Nikolas Cruz went before a judge who ordered him held without bond. He wore an orange jumpsuit with his hands cuffed at his waist. His attorney did not contest the order and had her arm around Cruz during the short appearance. Cruz, 19, is a former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said. The school had expelled him for disciplinary reasons.
