Expert: Youth sports are a bad investment
An astonishing 34 percent of parents of children who play sports believe their kids will either go to the Olympics or go pro, according to a new study. A new survey by TD Ameritrade says 63 percent of families spend between $100 and $499 per month per child on sports, 18 percent spend between $500 and $999 per month, and 11 percent spend up to two grand per child per month. The money is for travel teams, personal trainers, equipment, tournaments, airfare, hotels, and food.
