Proposal to help spot domestic abuse

Nail and hair salon workers, as well as barbers, can have a close relationship with their clients. Some New York City Council members want to use that special relationship to help victims of domestic violence. Under a proposal being drafted, employees would be trained to recognize signs of domestic violence, such as bumps, bruises, welts, and hair loss.
