Fewer friends, deeper bonds: study finds the average American has just four close friends
A new study reveals that American adults today count an average of only 3.6 close friends — a sharp drop from the 1990s. Experts say busy schedules, frequent moves, and more screen time are shrinking social circles, but having even a few meaningful friendships can reduce stress, boost immunity, and increase happiness.
