Pope Leo XIV makes history as first American Pope

History is made in Vatican City as white smoke rises above the Sistine Chapel, signaling the election of Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as Pope Leo XIV — the first American pontiff in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. Raised in Chicago and a former missionary in Peru, the 69-year-old begins his papacy with a message of peace, delivered in Italian and Spanish. FOX 5's Sharon Crowley has the story.
