Lifelong activist forced to ask for help after Hurricane Ian destroys home
For more than 20 years through her work with the Jazz Foundation of America, Wendy Oxenhorn has been a friend and advocate for musicians and entertainers in times of need. Her humanitarian work has taken her to New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and most recently to Ukraine and the war with Russia. In September, Hurricane Ian destroyed the first home she’s ever owned, affectionately called "The Tin Palace" in Sanibel Island, Florida. Suddenly, the “Jazz Angel of NYC” has found herself in need of an angel.
