There could be a few scattered rain/snow showers swinging through our northern counties later this afternoon leading to some slick travel locally. Skies continue to clear out tonight for our New Years celebration as cooler temperatures return to the area. Quiet weather will take over for mid week, but rain returns by Friday.

Look for more cloudy skies today with isolated showers from time to time. Most of the showers will be to the northwest. Temperatures will be quite mild today topping out in the mid-50s. The clouds will thin out tonight and the rain chances will drop off as a cold front passes by. But lows will continue to be relatively mild. More rain returns early next week, but it should be out of here in time for the new year!

The warm temperatures won't last as cooler air returns Tuesday with temperatures returning to a more seasonable range at that time.
