CDC: Don't kiss your turtle; Salmonella outbreak linked to pets

The advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may seem almost comical – "Don't kiss or snuggle your turtle" – but the consequences of ignoring the tip can be very serious. That is because all turtles carry Salmonella bacteria – and the agency has traced an outbreak of Salmonella infections in people to pet turtles.

Patriot Paws provides service dogs to veterans

Baby red pandas on display at Prospect Park Zoo

Two red panda cubs that were born at the Prospect Park Zoo this summer are now on display to the public, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
