A jury on Thursday convicted a Queens man in the 2015 fatal shooting of an NYPD plainclothes officer. Jurors found Demetrius Blackwell, 37, guilty on all counts in connection with the death of Police Officer Brian Moore and the attempted murder of his partner, Police Officer Eric Jansen, who was not hurt in the shooting.

Fox 5 spotted workers outside the Port Authority Bus Terminal several times a week during the morning rush throwing buckets filled with bleach and water onto the building and sidewalks in spots that routinely reek of urine.

The New York City Council is weighing a bill that could double the number of yellow cabs on the streets. The bill would allow medallion owners to add a second vehicle under their current medallions. City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez said this is necessary for the taxi industry to survive against growing ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft.

A cow got loose in Brooklyn late Tuesday morning. This video from SkyFoxHD shows police officers working to corral the bovine at the Prospect Park Parade Ground. Authorities used tranquilizer darts to subdue the animal and it was safely corralled, loaded into a police horse trailer and whisked away to the relief of those watching it unfold.The NYPD said the steer possibly escaped from a nearby slaughterhouse.

One dozen New York's Bravest died when the floor collapsed fighting a fire in a building on 23rd Street in Manhattan on Oct. 17, 1966. Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro and Christine Priore, daughter of Lt. Joseph Priore, who died in the fire, spoke about the tragedy and a new documentary about it.
