Would you eat ketchup slices?

Ketchup bottles, ketchup packets, and now ketchup slices?

Emily Williams of Los Angeles created the Slice of Sauce by mistake. She was experimenting with a family recipe for barbecue sauce. She was trying to make a dry rub but it came out in a "fruit roll-up" form. She said she put it on a sandwich just to see what it was like and thought it was delicious.

But Bo's Original Slice of Sauce is still not on store shelves yet. Williams and her business partner launched a Kickstarter campaign in hopes of raising enough money to get their product into production and into grocery stores. They've already exceeded their original goal of $15,000.

"We're calling it a solid form of a condiment. It's a lot like a fruit roll-up but softer," she said. "So it melts a little bit when it gets on a burger. It's just a really flavor-packed way to get that ketchup across."

The slices are vegan, all natural, and don't need to be refrigerated.

The Slice of Sauce will be made at a facility in Brooklyn. Williams said she hopes to have the slices of sauce on store shelves by barbecue season.
