More than 1,300 people live in the three Trump Place towers on Riverside Drive. Around 600 of those luxury apartment dwellers signed a petition asking the building's management to remove the president-elect's gold-lettered surname from their home.

On Tuesday, weeks after the world listened to Trump brag to an Access Hollywood host about groping women and Trump Place residents started their petition, Equity Residential -- which both owns and manages these three buildings --- announced it planned to replace every "Trump Place" with the corresponding building's address.

Equity Residential acknowledged the concerns of its Trump Place residents contributed to the company's decision to remove Trump's name from their properties.

In an email, a spokesman for the company that owns these buildings wrote that abandoning the Trump name -- which it inherited when it purchased the buildings in 2005 -- will allow the buildings to assume a more neutral identity appealing to current and future residents.
