It was a special mission for the USA. Former Miss USA contestants, models, and the cast of Fox's hit show "Gotham" shared the spotlight and took the runway to give back to military teens.

This rite of passage is possible thanks to Operation That's My Dress. Fox 5's parent company -- 21st Century Fox -- was a sponsor of the event, which gave dozens of girls from military families a chance to pick from hundreds of gowns from world-renowned designer Sherri Hill.

In the three years since this event began, Sherri Hill has given away thousands of dresses. This year alone the number is 3,000. But it is not just for prom. These gowns are worn for all kinds of occasions, even weddings.

Pageant beauties like Miss Tennessee 2014 Kristy Landers Niedenfuer were also on hand to turn the tables and this time be the glam squad.
